The latest NCC Competitiveness Bulletin examining the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) has just been published. The GCR provides an assessment of the factors driving productivity and prosperity across 140 countries. In the 2015-16 report, Ireland is ranked 24th - an improvement of 1 place from last year.

The GCR is particularly timely in the context of the on-going formulation of the Action Plan for Jobs 2016: in the past, the APJ has explicitly focused on actions designed to enhance competitiveness, and the WEF analysis provides a strong rationale for maintaining this focus in 2016.
